MARCH 25 — Sensationalism and yellow journalism are usually considered forms of journalism that are, how shall I put this, distasteful. It’s usually when media organisations exaggerate stories or create hype for issues that really aren’t as significant as they are supposed to be just to sell newspapers.

As a journalist, I try to stay clear of sensationalism and yellow journalism since I want my stories to matter (or so I tend to believe!). That’s why whenever the time comes to write this weekly column, I carefully pick and choose the topics and issues I talk about. I don’t just ramble about anything and everything.
